RVVP Wide Range Core Shielded Instrument Cable

The RVVP series couples finely stranded Class 5 copper conductors with a tinned copper braided shield and drain wire under a smooth PVC sheath, produced to GB / T 5023 and JB / T 8734 series constructions. One production platform covers 2 – 30 cores from 0.3 to 2.5 mm², so a single supplier line serves everything from a lone transmitter drop to a dense marshalling cabinet.

Description

Product Overview

The RVVP series couples finely stranded Class 5 copper conductors with a tinned copper braided shield and drain wire under a smooth PVC sheath, produced to GB / T 5023 and JB / T 8734 series constructions. One production platform covers 2 – 30 cores from 0.3 to 2.5 mm², so a single supplier line serves everything from a lone transmitter drop to a dense marshalling cabinet. That breadth, held to tight electrical tolerances, is what makes the series a dependable Precision Instrument Cable for process plants, test benches and OEM instrumentation.

Weak signals cannot tolerate coupled noise. The braid holds ≥ 80 % optical coverage to keep 4–20 mA loops, RTD and load-cell readings stable beside drives and switchgear - the reason system integrators standardise on it as their shielded instrument cable of record. And because the cores stay supple and colour-coded, electricians treat it as a fast-terminating Measuring Meter Wire for panel- and field-side connections alike.

Engineering & Quality Assurance

Copper is procured as 99.99 % purity rod and re-verified against IEC 60228 conductor resistance before stranding; the tinned braid is applied at controlled tension so coverage and shield continuity stay within spec across the whole core range. Every drum of shielded instrument cable passes 100 % spark, high-voltage and conductor-resistance testing in our ISO 9001-certified plant, with capacitance and transfer-impedance checks available on request. Shipments carry traceable batch records, a factory test report and CE / RoHS / REACH documentation; SGS or TÜV inspection can be arranged for tenders.

Our engineers back every quotation with practical EMC advice: ground the drain wire at the controller end to avoid ground loops, separate signal and power runs in shared trays, and upsize one cross-section for long analog loops. Honest guidance like this is why instrumentation contractors keep our line in their standard parts list.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I choose the right core count?

Count field devices per loop group and add one spare core for maintenance. Because the series spans 2 – 30 cores on one construction, you can standardise on a single part family across the plant - simpler stocking, consistent stripping and termination.

RVVP or RVSP for my loops?

For point-to-point analog loops, weighing sensors and low-speed interfaces, RVVP is the cost-effective choice. For long differential buses such as RS-485 or CAN, twisted-pair RVSP controls crosstalk better - we say so plainly, because matching construction to signal type is part of correct instrumentation practice.

Which certifications ship with each order?

A CE Declaration of Conformity, RoHS and REACH statements and factory routine-test reports for every drum. Third-party inspection by SGS or TÜV can be arranged on request.
